I’ve recently come across some articles on leadership, and I find myself wondering why there is not more mention of trust in these articles.  A leader with earned trust can do amazing things. The leader might earn this trust with competence, consistency, and compassion.

Distrust breeds pessimism.  This has feedback effects: less investment, less initiative, less commitment, less profound organization, etc.

Is being trusted a privilege or a right?
